A young black bear in Wisconsin has been safely rescued after spending several days with its head trapped inside a plastic jar. The unusual sight alarmed residents as the animal roamed through towns, unable to free itself.
Over the course of its struggle, the bear was spotted across three different counties, covering more than 80 kilometers. Locals reported sightings and expressed concern for its survival, as the container made eating and drinking nearly impossible.
Wildlife officials attempted several times to capture the animal using traps, but the bear’s constant movement made it extremely difficult. Each day, it managed to slip away and continue wandering through the state’s countryside.
Eventually, USDA experts located the exhausted bear on private property. With careful precision, they tranquilized it using a dart before removing the jar that had been stuck tightly around its head.
Fortunately, the animal suffered no lasting injuries and was released back into the wild shortly after. Authorities hope the rescue serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by plastic waste to wildlife.
